Admiral Hon. Samuel Barrington was born in 1729. He was the son of John Barrington, 1st Viscount Barrington of Ardglass and Anne Daines.1 He died in 1800.

Admiral Hon. Samuel Barrington gained the rank of Admiral in the service of the Royal Navy.1 He has an extensive biographical entry in the Dictionary of National Biography.3
