WARNING: MARRIED AND MAIDEN SURNAMES ARE DIFFERENT! Please read explanation:

There is potentially great confusion regarding the surnames BILISK and BILITZ (also spelled BIELITZ). The person in this profile had the maiden name BILISK (or BILISZK). She married Adolf BILITZ or (BIELITZ).

These surnames are NOT variants of each other, despite intermarriage between them. Numerous other records have clearly indicated that the BILISK surname is distinct and unrelated to BIELITZ, because it is consistently spelled BILISK/BILISZK, across all of the many records of siblings and other family.

Adding to the confusion is the death record for this person's wife, Emilia, which erroneously adds the comment "Az elhalt atyának családi neve helyesen BILITZ" (The deceased's father's surname should be BILITZ). This is clearly a clerical error, given the massive quantities of other records for siblings (AND the father) that spell the surname BILISK not BILITZ. This record was made during the chaos surrounding the end of World War II in Hungary, and was made four months after the death. The error is understandable in that context.
