About Adolfo Montoya

Adolfo Montoya was born in 1889 according to a census report discovered by his niece, Stella. Adolfo had a twin brother, Rosario. Adolfo's parents were Leandro Montoya and Clarita Quintana Montoya. He had several siblings including Victoria, Mary, Laureano, Jose and Pete.

Adolfo married Catalina (Katherine) Lujan and they had seven children: Frank, Jose, Ben, Clara, Phillip, Edna, and Roy(also called John-Roy).

Adolfo died at a fairly young age in a mining accident (around 1932) in Bingham, Utah. Katherine was left to raise six children (Jose died at a young age, possibly at birth). Clara said she and her brothers were sent to live with relatives for a time because they did not have enough food or money to survive in one household together. Katherine never remarried. Katherine later lived with her daughter, Edna and spent many years living with Clara, Pete and their four children in San Leandro, CA.
