About Adolph Friedrich Vollmer

He was a well-known german art painter in Hamburg
as well as the co-founder of the Hamburg Kuenstlerverein of 1832
which was responsible for building the Hamburger Kunsthalle.

His son Johannes Vollmer became a well-known architect in Berlin
who build more than 20 prostestant churches all over Germany.

His son Martin Vollmer emigrated in1878 from Hamburg to Sydney
and founded a fruit tree nursery which got the reputation of one of the best of Australia
and sold the trees all over the whole Commonwealth states.

His son Friedrich "Frederick" emigrated in 1875 from Hamburg to Levuka, capital of Fiji,
and worked in the "Hedeman" trading company, later as manager.
He married the daughter of a chief of one of the neighbour islands - Adi Pasemaca,
had one child, Rudolph Vollmer, and became mayor of Levuka in 1812

His daughter Elisabeth Vollmer married the well-known german Gynaecologist Dr. Friedrich Ahlfeld
who worked for some years as professor at Marburg University.

Their son Friedrich became known as the father of Bolivian geology.
