Adonijah Bartholomew

Adonijah Bartholomew was born in the town of Evans, Erie county, N.Y., Febuary 3, 1825. Removed to Michigan with his parents in 1838. He was married to his now deeply bereaved widow Feb 24, 1857. Five children came to bless their home, two sons and three daughters, all of whom survive him. He was an industrious man, posessed of sound integrity, and an ardent desire for the best interests of his family and neighbors.

His death occured April 3, 1894, after long and intense suffering, yet calmly and peacefully did he leave it all with Him to whom he had committed his trust, and "Who doeth all things well." Saddened are the hearts of neighbors and friends; desolate indeed the home he has vacated, yet we can say, "Thy will, not ours, be done." May the God of grace speak peace to the sorrowing hearts of sons, daughters, wife, sisters, and friends, and lead them all safely home at last.
