"This daughter of Lijsbet's is not mentioned in Cairns's article. She presumably died before 1718 when, according to Cairns, the joint will of Lijsbeth van Wijk and Nikolaas von Wieligh mentions only Christina and Willem as 'voorkinderen' of Lijsbet van Wijk.

In Die Myburghs van Suid-Afrika it is also recorded that "Aaltje" was born in 1699 and baptised on 25 March 1699. It is recorded too that two Coloured people (slaves?) were witnesses at her baptism - Christiaan Borros and Constant van der Cust. Her mother is said to be "of uknown origin" (and went on to have a number of children out of wedlock before marrying Nikolaus von Willigh, etc.)

NOTE: Aaltje is in fact rightfully b1c4 and Barbara b1c5; however it is assumed that she was not recorded as such because of her mixed race status, and as Barbara's descendants all follow the b4 numbering and nothing is known of Aeltie's descendants, I have decided to leave them both recorded as b4.
