23 November 1631: Charter by Alexander Clark of Stentoun, provost of the burgh of Edinburgh, and the bailies of Edinburgh, granting the lands of Soultray and others in the sheriffdom of Edinburgh, and the lands of threeburnford in Lauderdale, to William Borthwick of Cruikston. On the back of this writ is an inventory of writs belonging to William Borthwick of Cruikston; also a memorandum of a contract of marriage between William Borthwick, brother-german to James, Lord Borthwick, and Agnes, daughter and heiress of William Borthwick of Cruickston.
