John Livingston says in his memoirs in exile about his mother: "My mother was Agnes Livingstone, daughter of Alexander Livingstone, portioner of Falkirk, come of the house of Dunipace. She was a rare pattern of godliness and virtue. She died in the year 1617, being about thirty-two years of age. She left three sons and four daughters. I was born in Monybroch, in Stirlingshire, the 21st of June 1603."
From the Livingstons of Callendar, etc. by Edwin Brockholst Livingston 1920: William and Agnes had one of the earliest marriages to be recored in the registers of Falkirk parish. The entry is as follows: '1600, December 14, Mr. William Livingston, minister, Monyabroch, and Agnes Livingston, daughter of Alexander Livingston of Halls of Airth, proclaimed; married 6th January 1601.'
