Anne Chisholm married John Napier of Merchiston. RMSRS: 634
Evidence from the National Records of Scotland
17 March 1620: Charter by which James Hamilton of Kilbrachmont confirms that he has given the lands of Kilbrachmont to his son and heir George Hamilton and George's wife Jean Napier. In the marriage contract Jean Napier is identified as the second lawful daughter of the deceased John Napier of Merchiston and his wife Anne Chisholm: "Jeannam Napeir filiam legitmam secundogentiam quondam Joannis N. de Merchistoun inter cum et Annam Chisholme ejus sponsam procreatum." charter number 634 on p. 220
Biographical Summary from Alexabder Mackenzie's Account of Chisholm of Cromlix
Agnes, who, as his second wife, married the celebrated John Napier of Merchistoun, the inventor of Logarithms, with issue five sons, all of whom founded respectable families, and five daughters, who were all well married." She was a great-granddaughter of James IV., her grandmother being the daughter of that monarch and his celebrated and ill-fated love, Margaret Drummond. Agnes Chisholm was the second cousin of the philosopher's (John Napier) first wife, Sir James Stirling of Keir having married a daughter of the prelatic concubinage betwixt the Bishop of Dunblane and the Lady Jean Graham, daughter of the Earl of Montrose.
