4.  Edmund Trafford, “The Alchemist,” lord of the manor of Trafford, in Manchester, co. Lancaster, b. 1390-93, knighted at Whitsuntide 1426, d. 24 Jan. 1457/8, brother and heir of Henry Trafford (IV) (who d.s.p. 1408). Henry (IV), aged 6 years, who d. young in 1408.[6]
