Born Oct. 28, 1917 in Wells, Maine, she was the daughter of the late Lewis and Katherine (Furbush) French. She worked as a weaver for the Springvale Woolen Mill for many years. She and her late husband wintered in Vero Beach, Fla., and summered in Hiram, Maine.

Mrs. Turner was a member of the Bethany United Methodist Church in East Rochester. She enjoyed gardening, crotcheting, crafts, furniture refinishing , upholstering, and cooking; known for her "chocolate cake."
