About Ahijah Estes, I
He was a Hatter. He accumulated considerable property. in Salem. Retired in 1750-styled"gentleman", as early as 1753. Lived in Old Sugar House yet stands in rear of Mudgett and Co. in Salem. He left a will giving his property ofthe 5 th generation, which was Maude Baker's generation. It would have been worth millions, in the heart of Salem.
