This article shows that Joan de Vivonne, married (2nd) by contract dated 28 April 1264 her step-brother, Aimery de Rochechouart, son and heir apparent of Aimery de Rochechouart, Knt., Vicomte of Rochechouart (in Haute Vienne) in Poitou, seigneur of La Cossière-en-Périgord, Brigueil-l’Aine, Mas-de-Gegelar, Pérusse, etc., by his 1st wife, Jeanne, daughter and heiress of Geoffroy de Tonnay, seigneur of Tonnay-Charente. Joan and Aimery had two children, Aimery [Vicomte of Rochechouart] and Jeanne. Aimery de Rochechouart died sometime before 25 June 1283 (date of his father’s will).

It had been presumed that Aimery (X) had died in or about 1283, but as Joan was already married to Reginald FitzPiers in 1280, Aimery (X) must have died in that year at the latest, probably earlier.

"4. JOAN DE VIVONNE, eldest daughter and co-heiress, born about 1251 (aged 88 in 1259). She married (1st) after 10 March 1262 INGRAM DE PERCY, Knt., of Dalton, co. Durham and Kirkby Overblow. Yorkshire, King’s yeoman younger son of William de Percy, of Topcliffe, Yorkshire by his 2nd wife Ellen, daughter of Ingram Balliol. They had no issue. In March 1262, the king granted him £50 yearly of rent from the fixed and perpetual rents of the Jews of England. In July 1262, he was granted protection with clause, he then going with the king to France. SIR INGRAM DE PERCY died testate shortly before 10 Oct. 1262. His widow, Joan, married (3rd) (as his 2nd wife) before 1280 REYNOLD FITZ PETER, Knt.,[146] of Blæn Llyfni (in Cathedine), Bwich y Dinas (in Talgarth), and Talgarth, Breconshir, Wales, Crookham (in Thatcham) and Stanford (in Stanford Dingley), Berkshire, Haresfield and Southam (in Bishop’s Cleeve), Gloucestershire, Bedhamptom, Cliddesden, Kempshott (in Winslade), North Oakley (in Kingsdere), Tadley, and Wolverton, Hampshire, Chirton, Wiltshire, Caldston, Londesborough, Weaverthorpe, and Weighton, Yorkshire, etc., Joint Guardian of the Welsh Marches, Sheriff of Hampshire, 1261-4, Constable of Winchester Castle, and in right of his 2nd wife, of Chewton, Somerset adn Carbury, co. Kildare, Ireland, 2nd son of Peter Fitz Herbert, of Blæn Llyfni, Breconshire, Wales, Crookham, Berkshire, North Oakley (in Kingsclere) and Wolverton, Hampshire, Southam (in Bishop’s Cleeve), Gloucestershire, Chirton Wiltshire, etc., by his 1st wife, Alice, duaghter of Robert Fitz Roger. They had four sons, Peter, Knt., Reynold, Matthew, and William (clerk), and two daughters, Isabel and Beatrice. He witnesses a charter of his brother, Herbert Fitz Peter, to Brecon Priory dated c.1245. He was heir in 1248 to his brother, Herbert Fitz Peter. In 1252 he was granted a weekly market to be held at his manor of Market Weighton, Yorkshire. He supported King Henry III against the Barons, and was sent to subdue the rebels who still held out in Kenilworth He fought in Wales in 1258, 1260, 1263, 1277, 1280. In the period, c.1260—70, he granted one messuage and one virgate of land in Herriard, Hampshire called Hinewode to Henry de Bohun, rector of Farleigh. In 1262, he brought a plea against Walter de Beauchamp, Knt., in the king’s court for a moiety of Alcester, Warwikshire.
