About Alan Morrill
Uncle Alan studied at Harvard, one of the few Jewish boys admitted as their was a legal quota of Jews who were able to study there. He was a wonderful actor, and even though he was Jewish, he was accepted into the Hasty Pudding Club, a Harvard club which was like a dramatic society and produced plays throughout the year. No other Jew was admitted while he was a student. He had a major role in his first year of studies, but just to be mean, the club listed him on the play programme as two people-- Abraham Isaac and Morrill Abramson. He worked on Broadway until the depression and then went into business. During the depression he did a lot of work dubbing English for Spanish films, and even as an old man, sometimes he'd watch an old Spanish film, and hear his own voice. He was a very charming man, and much loved by the family.
