Albert L. Andrews, age 79, of Lancaster, PA passed away at Hospice of Lancaster County, Mt. Joy on Sunday, August 23, 2009. He was the husband of Joan R. Gochenauer Andrews with whom he celebrated 57 years of marriage on March 6th of this year. He was born in Lancaster, son of the late Christian K. & Alice May Andrews. He was a graduate of McCaskey High School class of 1949. He worked for Armstrong World Industries of Lancaster for 50 years. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Lititz Sportsman Assoc. Albert enjoyed taking care of his home, doing yard work and landscaping. He also enjoyed fishing and golfing. Surviving besides his wife are 2 daughters: Pamela J. wife of John P. Hougendobler of Manheim, Deniese L. wife of John B. Myers of Willow Street; 2 siblings: Howard husband of Beatrice Bard Andrews of Ronks, Joyce wife of William Keene of Milton, PA. Many nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. He was preceded in death by 2 brothers: Clyde and Christian Andrews.

Funeral service will take place from the Shivery Funeral Home, 3214 Lincoln Highway East, Paradise on Thursday, August 27th, at 11 a.m. with Pastor Bob Yothers, Jr. officiating. Interment will be in the Paradise Presbyterian Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 10 a.m. until time of service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of Lancaster County, P.O. Box 4125, Lancaster, PA 17604 or to the American Cancer Society, 314 Good Drive, Lancaster, PA 17603.
