Brother Albert Edward Laurens, after a very brief illness, passed
to his rest, at the age of sixty-four years.
Our brother was born in the island of
Jersey. At exactly the half-way year of his
life, whilst travelling with Sister Laurens
to South Africa, he came under the spirit-
ual influence of a fellow traveller in the
person of an energetic young Seventh-day
Adventist-sister who believed in sowing
beside all waters. The seed fell in a re-
sponsive heart, and thirty-two years of
association with God's people has been the
result, twenty-two of which was spent in
fellowship with the Victorian believers.
We extend our sympathies to Sister
Laurens and daughter in this their sad loss,
but the day is not far distant when, for
all believers, the night of mourning will
burst into eternal day that shall know no
