Albert J. McWhorter

Albert J. McWhorter, 65, of Taylorville, died at 3:35 a.m. Tuesday, October 16, 2001, at St. Vincent Memorial Hospital.

He was born May 30, 1936, in Effingham, the son of Lawrence and Bernadine Bushue McWhorter. He married Barbara J. Elliot on October 27, 1957, in Taylorville. He was retired from farming and trucking. He was a member of the Way of Life Church.

He is survived by his wife; daughters: Debbra Heckwine of Taylorville, Peggy (husband Kevin) Habian of Boyton Beach, FL, Diane (husband Lloyd) Blom of Lake St. Louis, MO, and Kathryn (husband Kenny) Dickerson of Mt. Auburn, IL; six grandchildren; brothers: Furdie McWhorter, Junior McWhorter, and Ernie McWhorter all of Effingham and Verne McWhorter of Lillyville, IL; and sisters: Beulah Nackie of Arizona, Ruby Sapp of Edgewood, IL, and Mary Demascal of Assumption, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother: Louis; one sister: Stella; and one great-grandson.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 19, 2001, at Sutton Memorial Home in Taylorville, with Pastor Stan Pratt officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.
