Albert was an early member of the Baptist church at Hopewell.
Albert alone of the immediate descendants of the original Opdyck settlers retained the Opdyck spelling, which was changed by all others to Updike. His four sons were therefor the ancestors of all the Opdyckes, Opdykes and Obdykes in the united States. He died 1752 in Hunterdon Co, New Jersey.
