Albert was first married to a Caroline V. on 27 Dec 1848 in Lauderdale Co., Tennessee. Census records indicate they had four children together. Apparently Caroline and three of the children died before 1870. Daughter, Julia, was on the 1870 census with him and second wife, Ida Caroline Johnson Smith. ~~ When the Smith family moved from Tennessee, three of the sons and families, including Albert, moved to around Pecan Grove,Carroll Parish, Louisiana. Their father, Peyton Randolph Smith settled in Monticello, Drew County, Arkansas where he was a minister of the gospel. He is buried (d-1874)along with his wife (d-1851)somewhere in Covington, Tipton County, Tennessee. ~~ Albert and Ida C. Johnson Smith were married 20 Oct 1865 in Mount Vernon, Franklin County, TX and were the parents of seven children: Carrie Smith, Fannie Smith Noblett, Ida Smith Hall, Albert Foster Smith, Hattie Amanda Smith Kellam, Joshua Johnson Smith, and Mollie May Smith Rees ~~ Confederate veteran: Pvt. Co. I, 7th Tennessee Cavalry. Also was a Baptist preacher.
