About Alberta Elizabeth Klein
- From findagrave.com: Birth: Mar 21 1909 Death: May 19 1941 Burial: St Francis of Assissi, Balltown, Dubuque Co, IA, USA
- From files of Vernon A. Haberkorn: Alberta and Ray farmed near Balltown. Alberta died during childbirth and left Ray in a pretty sad situation for a long time. Alberta's mother was living with them at the time so she helped raise the family til she herself had to be put into a home. We used to visit Uncle Ray and Aunt Alberta very often and they would be at our place quite often. The reason the two families got together so often was because Alberta and my mother Frances were so attached to each other. Also being Grandma lived with them we went to visit her more than the other aunts and uncles. Ray and my father would always go fishing together and Ray, Jr. was my age so we were the closest attached cousins, too. All the other cousins were a little older than we were so Ray and I had more in common. Alberta, too, was a more serious and stern person than were her older sisters of Franz and Mary. Alberta resembled her mother Albertina very closely but was a little shorter in height than her mother. I used to stay at their place for a few days at a time during summer vacations and Ray, Jr. and I would have quite a time.
