About Albertina Willemina Heimgartner
Albertina "Tina" was born to parents William & Wilhelmine Kowalke on Nov 1, 1861 in Germany. In about 1874 the family immigrated to the United States settling in Plymouth County, Iowa.
On June 15, 1883 Tina married Robert Heimgartner near Le Mars, Iowa by Reverend Stagler, Pastor of the Methodist Church; witnesses were Albrik & Emilie (Kowalke) Heimgartner. Robert & Tina had nine children together, two sons died as infants in Iowa.
In 1901 the family left Iowa by train and traveled to the Juliaetta, Idaho area where they became dry crop farmers. Heimgartner descendants continue to operate the family farm today (2013).
In 1917 Robert and Tina moved to California with their daughter Minnie and youngest son Walter. Tina died in December 1936 and is buried next to her husband in Inglewood Park Cemetery.
