Albina Matlosz Janesko

Albina Matlosz was born in Elizabeth, New Jersey on January 5, 1916 to Stanley and Josephine Matlosz. A sister, Pelagia and a brother Henry soon followed. Albina attended both catholic and public schools in Elizabeth, where she was an excellent student. She helped in her parents' grocery store and met John Janesko who was delievering produce. After dating for two years, they were married at St. Adalbert's Church on September 24, 1939. One son, Ronald was born in 1942 and John went into the USNAVY to serve in WWII. Upon his return he went to work in the grocery store, while Albina retired to become a homemaker and to await the birth of their second son, Thomas John, in 1946. In 1954, Albina moved with her husband and family to Toms River, New Jersey to a new house in the Silverton section. She raised her family, gardened, kept house and did the books for her husband's dairy customers. Albina helped to care for her mother and father when they moved to Silverton in the 60's. Her mother lived to be 102 years old and Albina was an ever loving and devoted daughter. She also cared for her grandson Jordan Janesko, while her son, Ron and daughter-in-law, Linda taught school. After her husband's death in 2001, Albina has continued to live a quiet life in her home at the Jersey Shore and still enjoys reading and attending plays at Ocean County College. She is now 96 years old and in very good health. On Tuesday March 27th, Albina suffered a fall at home and died suddenly at Community Hospital in Toms River. She will be greatly missed by her sons, daughters-in-law and grandchildren. Visitation on Sunday and burial on Monday, April 2. 2012.
