BABE CLARK CEMETERY
NEAR STARKS
Listing Compiled by
Roberta B. Doty and Evelyn E. Cole
Annotated by La Vaughn H. "LV" Hayes
A very pretty cemetery! Towards the back are three huge cedar trees. In the
center, almost as though highlighted, are three more cedars that give the
impression of bonsai. Other shrubs have been planted, and the whole cemetery
is covered over with carpet or centipede grass. We would like to congratulate
the groundskeepers for a job well done. Babe Clark is surrounded on three
sides by pine forest, and a grassed parking area is on the west side as you
turn off Gene Nelson Road, which is graveled. The best way to reach this
lovely little cemetery is to turn east from LA 109 onto Smith Road and follow
it to the left curve in the road. Then, just a bit farther on, you will find
Babe Clark Cemetery on the right or east side of the road. [Most of the
funeral home markers in this cemetery are from the Claybar Funeral Home in
Orange, Texas.]
