Alexander Blair divided his boyhood between the homes of his aunts, Margaret Allison Reddick and Elizabeth Blair Martin, in Colimbina, Co., Ohio. Later he lived near Bucyrus, in Hancock Co. In Columbiana Co., he m. Elizabeth Fisher. They came to Kansas in 1870. In his last days, Alexander was extremely deaf, yet he always was a man keenly and intelligently interested in questions of public interest and welfare; he possesses a keen wit & kindly heart, & in his home community was one to whom all turned for advice. I found one of these at Uncle Lea Blair's home about 1967. I took it home, and that was the beginning of these many years of genealogical endeavors...All because of Cousin Effie. She had no children, but what a legacy she left. I found copies of her work in the L.A. Library--and I made sure copies of her Blair Family history are now in the archives of the Clan Blair Society and the Blair Society for Genealogical Research... I am told I met her when I was a very little girl...Little did she know that I would be the one to carry on her work. We owe her alot. Y Y
