Alexander Cunningham, here treated, is the only son of Alexander, Earl of Glencairn, and his second wife Janet Cunningham. The Scots Peerage IV: pp. 241-42

Death

A date and place of death has not been identified for Alexander Cunningham, here treated. He was alive on 14 November 1583, the date upon which he gave a feu charter for the eighteen shilling land of old extent of Rouchbank, and other lands, including the five merk lands of Over and Nether Ardoch, to James Hamilton of Ardoch RRS IV: 653 but he died before 22 June 1585, the date upon which James VI, King of Scots, confirmed the charter he granted to John Culper of Bridgend-Wester RRS IV: 838
