His son, Alexander Andrews Haughton, Jr. entered the family business, joining his father as a stock broker in 1952 at the firm of Abbott, Proctor and Paine. For the next 62 years Alexander, Jr. worked at this firm, which through several subsequent mergers became UBS Financial Services, Inc. With over 60 continuous years of service, Alex was one of the longest serving employees of UBS Financial Services anywhere in the world.
