Memorandum on Pte Alexander Lamb.W. O 25-467, Description Books: W.O. 12-8065-9 Muster Rolls and Pay Lists. 19th April 1782. Date of birth in Lanark.

Corunna (June 16 1809) when he was stationed in Belfast & Newry, and Waterloo (Aug 15 1815) since his record shows he was “Discharged 29th Oct 1814 “having “Completed his period of service” But he was with Wellesley when the general invaded France in Oct 1813. Was at the siege of Bayonne, to Toulouse, until the war ended April 12 1814, and he was returned to Ireland, where he remained until his discharge. He then returned to his home in Scotland. At least we know he was living in Blantyre when his son Thomas, his fourth child, and the first to survive infancy was born

Battle of Furntis and its aftermath

Campaigne of the Napoleonic Wars leading up to Waterloo in 1815, a battle in which Alexander did not take part, since he received his discharge in Ireland 28th October 1814
