Alexander is the child of Charles Richardson and Selina Ellis. Alexander: born 26 March 1847 at 2, South Wharf, Paddington, London. Married Sarah Jane Sandison on 11 April 1872 at St Stephen's Church, Shepherds Bush, West London. They lived until about 1881 at 13 Clifton Villas, Maida Hill, London and then for 15 years at Eynham House, Wood Lane, Shepherds Bush, London (which was demolished in 1896). Finally they lived at Langland, Green Lane, Northwood, Middlesex.
Alex succeeded his father as managing director of the business at Paddington and Vauxhall (until 1904 in partnership with his brother, Walter T Richardson). He died of uraemia on 4 December 1922 at a nursing home at 29 Wimpole St, London W1 on 4 December 1922 and buried at Kensal Green on 8 December.
