About Alexander John Schott

Aklexander John Schott was the son of John Schott and Hannah Smithberger. He married Martha Smith, Oct. 30, 1906, Salt Lake City, Utah. Their children were: James Dale Schott, Frederick William Schott, Ella Margaret Schott Gessell, Mary Jean Schott Smith. Her is his obituary from Find A. Grave.com:

Alexander J. Schott, 85, of 2671 Jackson, died Tuesday night at St. Benedict's Hospital of heart ailment. Mr. Schott was born Oct. 11, 1879, in Fulda, Ohio, a son of John and Hannah Smithberger Schott. On Oct. 30, 1906, he was married to Martha Smith in Salt Lake City.

He resided in Evanston, Wyo., 13 years and in Ogden the past 46 years. He had been an engineer for the Union Pacific Railroad Co., retiring in 1948. He was member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers in Evanston and Union Pacific Old Timers Club in Ogden.

Surviving are his widow, two sons, James Dale Schott, Altoona, Iowa; Fred William Schott, Portland, Ore.; two daughters, Mrs. Jay F. (Margaret) Gessell, Mrs. A. Gibson (Mary Jean) Smith, both of Ogden; 17 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, one brother, William B. Schott, Caldwell, Ohio; one sister, Mrs. Elnora Miller, Elyria, Ohio.

Requiem Mass will be celebrated Friday at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Holy Rosary will be recited Thursday at 8 p.m. at Lindquist and Sons Colonial Chapel. Friends may call at the mortuary Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. Entombment in the Good Shephard Abbey Mausoleum at Washington Heights Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Sisters of St. Benedict's Hospital Charity Fund.
