Alexander Shaw, bapt. 25th July 1670, only son of Andrew S., merchant, Inverness, and Janet Paterson ; educated at Univs. of St Andrews (M.A., 24th July 1696) and Edinburgh; licen. by Presb. of Dunblane 20th Aug. 1700; ord. 6th May 1702; died 24th June 1753. He marr. 2nd July 1702, Grizel (died 29th Dec. 1769), daugh. of Andrew Munro, sheriff-clerk of Moray, and had issue —
