According to AA Vasilchikova, Razumovsky "shunned pride, hatred and deceit, having no education, but gifted with the nature of the mind, solid, was kind, forgiving, courteous in dealing with younger people, loved practical jokes and enjoyed a shared love."
Catherine II said he was one of the best looking men she had ever seen. He became one of the richest men in Russia when he became the husband of Empress Elizabeth.
" In his youth he was a shepherd; then he was taught to read and write by the rural sexton (Chermer). Having a fine voice he sang in the choir at the village church. In 1731, Colonel Vyshnevsky, one of empress Anna Ivanovna’s courtiers, while passing through the village on his way back to the Russian capital from a mission to Hungary, was wonder-struck with his vocal ability, and took him to St. Petersburg where he joined the choir of the Ukrainian palace chapel.
The beauty and talent of Razumovsky captivated Elizabeth Petrovna who took him to the imperial court in 1732. Upon deportation of Elizabeth’s minion Aleksey Shubin, Razumovsky replaced him as tsesarevna's favorite. After losing his voice, he was accepted in the post of the court bandura player, and then the manager of one of her mansions. He received the rank of the hof-quartermeister; and actually supervised Elizabeth's court. During the period of Anna Leopoldovna’s reign he was made a Kamer-Junker."
In the coup placing Elizabeth on the throne, Razumovsky played a very prominent role and was promoted to lieutenant in the Life campaign with the general's rank. After the coronation of the Empress, Razumovsky was given a number of estates.
Two people were claimed to be his children through Elizabeth, a Nun Dosifeya and a Monk but they have never been proved to be theirs.

Об А.Г.Разумовском я знаю только по литературным данным. Знаю, что он иногда увозил дочь и жил с ней в своих имениях, далеко от Санкт Петербурга. При этом он выдавал её за племянницу, дочь К.Г.Разумовского.
