Alfred Henry Breedin

Youngest of two brothers and four sisters born in Winchester, VA. Orphaned as a young teenager during Civil War and moved to Kingstree, SC to be with married sister Lucy Breedin Mouzon. Following the deaths of the Mouzons, is believed to haved lived with uncle, James Washington Singleton in Illinois. May have been briefly married there and fathered a child that died in infancy. Traveling salesman for W.E. Holmes & Co. (207 East Bay St.) of Charleston SC, dealers in paints, oils, window glass, and painters supplies. Homes in Manning, Society Hill, and Charleston. Among Charleston residences were 80 Cannon St., 2 Jasper St., 89 Spring St., and 58 Radcliffe, according to city directories.
