A lawyer and politically active in Poland before world war 2 Migrated with daughter and wife from Poland via Lithuania using a Japanese transit visa issued by Shugiar From Japan he and family travelled to Sydney Australia by Japanese owned ship On the way to Australia the captain was forced by a Dutch military vessel to continue to Sydney and not return to Japan The family settled in Sydney under very difficult financial conditions Dr Cymerman became an active member of the Jewish community being a founding member of the Sydney Jewish Folk Centre an gave many lectures both in Yidish and English language He was a subeditor of the Jewish News Yidish part. He also went to the Sydney wharfs to welcome new immigrants to Sydney
