Alfred Heinrich Karl Ludwig Graf von Waldersee (* 8. April 1832 in Potsdam; † 5.
There are a number of legends about Alfred Graf von Waldersee. It was said that he never took a measuring table with him for exercises and maneuvers. “ You shouldn't have your head in the cards, but the cards in your head! “And in fact, without looking at the map, he knew every stationer's house and every trigonometric point in the area. Jochim von Kürenberg, the author of a biography of Kaiser Wilhelm II. , Describes another oddity in “Was everything wrong?”: “Waldersee owned a raven who, while his master was working in the Red House on Königsplatz, sat on a stone in the courtyard of the building and waited until Waldersee appeared; then the black bird sat on the golden shoulder piece of his master, who left the courtyard with him while the guards presented to both of them. This raven could not be touched by anyone, not even by the emperor, who tried in vain for his favor."
