Justin 'Roy' Allen Funeral services for Justin "Roy" Allen, 86, of Plainview will be at 10 a.m. Friday at College Heights Baptist Church with the Rev. Don Robertson, pastor, officiating. Burial will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday in McAdoo Cemetery in Dickens County under the direction of Lemons Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Mr. Allen died Wednesday, May 25, 2011. He was born July 3, 1924, to Alfred Justin "Buddy" and Roselthea Belle "Rosie" Richards Allen in McAdoo. He served in the U.S. Navy from Nov. 21, 1942, to March 6, 1946. He married Frances Lee Bartlett on May 1, 1949, in Carlsbad, N.M. He farmed in McAdoo until 1966 when he became the manager of a fertilizer company. He retired in January 1990. He was a deacon at College Heights Baptist Church and was a supporter of Hale County Senior Citizens Center. Survivors include his wife; two daughters and sons-in-law, Dr. Barbara and David Carr of Plainview and Marilyn and Weldon Baker of Lubbock; a sister, Charlotte Brannon of Austin; five grandchildren; five stepgrandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and 13 stepgreat-grandchildren. His parents; four brothers, Ross, David, Cliff and George Allen; and two sisters, Faye Olive and Vesta Allen, are deceased.
