About Alfred Maxwell Small
His obituary was in the Washington County Post, Thursday, January 15, 1931:
Alfred M. Small died early Monday at his home on Grove Street in Cambridge after a long illness. He was the son of the late James Small and Sarah Edie Small, and was born in the Town of Jackson on May 8th, 1879. He resided on the home farm until about four years ago when he moved with his family to Cambridge. He was Past Master of Salem Lodge, F. & M., and Past Patron of Ondawa Chapter, O. E. S. , and a member of the Presbyterian Church. Besides his wife, who was formerly Miss Margaret Oviatt, he is survived by two sons, Marshall J. and Donald T. Small; his mother, Mrs. Sarah M. Small, and one sister, Miss Harriet E. Small, both of Troy. Funeral services were held from his late residence Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock, Rev. Harold C. Harmon officiating. The interment was at Evergreen Cemetery, Salem.
