Alfred Sparks

(son of George Sparks and Hannah Lake of England). Born March 7, 1835, at Hollow, Worcestershire, England. Came to Utah in 1853, Cyrus H. Wheelock company.

   Married:	Jane Ann Fowler January 30, 1853, while crossing the Atlantic (daughter of Samuel Fowler and Ann Linton of Baughton, Worcestershire, England, and who came to Utah in 1877). She was born November 27, 1835.

   Their children:

           George S. born September 29, 1854, married Matilda Mary Price September 29, 1876;

           Alfred W. born January 21, 1857, married Sarah J. Grimmett August 21, 1878;

           Mary Ann born February 6, 1859, married W. H. Bird October 11, 1875;

           Thomas F. born April 7, 1861, married Elisa J. Wilcox October 16, 1884;

           Laura J. born September 9, 1863, died infant;

           Alice M. born November 21, 1866, married George Cook October 11, 1883;

           John H. born February 20, 1870, married Heneretta Dayton October 24, 1890;

           Caroline H. born February 17, 1872, married J. Henry Dayton October 24, 1890;

           Ann born March 1, 1867, died infant.

   Married:	Ruth Slater March 14, 1863, at Salt Lake City (daughter of James Slater, who came to Utah with William Tapscott company). She was born January 4, 1838, at Bedfordshire, England.

   Their children:

           James H. born September 21, 1866, married Rose Nate October 3, 1888;

           Hannah born March 28, 1864, married Thomas Lindsay;

           Frances born May 17, 1869, married Frank Smedley October 1, 1888;

           Joseph born May 17, 1869;

           William born August 13, 1870;

           Henry born June 11, 1872.

   Families resided at Salt Lake City, Fort Herriman, Lehi, Utah, and Paris and Dingle, Idaho.
