About Algernon Edgar Loxton
Excerpt of a book written by his grandson, Dr. Asticot Loxton 'The Origins and Descent of the Loxtons of South Africa' (August 1997): "He spent his last years on the Esplanade or Marine Parade in Sea Point, Cape Town, where he had acquired the gentleman’s residence Milton Manor that was, much later, converted into the Hotel Elizabeth. I distinctly remember that Milton Manor had its own ballroom with a sprung floor. He died there in 1928 at age 84 years."
