Alice Lucritia Egerton, at the death of her first cousin twice removed, Francis Egerton, 8th Earl of Bridgewater (link: Francis Henry Egerton), would have, had she been a male, inherited the Earldom and it's vast fortune. Instead the considerable Egerton fortune was inherited by her third cousin, John Hume Egerton, Viscount Alford (link: John Egerton-Cust, Viscount Alford), and the Bridgewater title died out.
