Alice Flanigan (Raymond)

"There is no husband (Hall). My mother wanted me to take my step-father's name (Holleran) so we could be one happy little family after my brother was born. I refused because I despised my step-father so I just took Hall instead. You know I'm Barbara Linda Flanigan and my mother is Barbara Alice Raymond, right? No one and I mean no one has ever called either my mother or myself Barbara. She named me after her dog, a huge Collie-Lindy who was named after Chas. Lindbergh. Her dog rescued her from some crazy guy that broke into their house when she was 16 yrs.old. I saw pictures of him. The Catholic nuns at Mercy Hosp. wouldn't let her take me home until she gave me a Saint's name. Thus, Barbara. All of this is the absolute truth-I swear it on my kids. I come from, as you do, from a very bizarre family. Thank goodness you had your dad and his side and I had Uncle Doc."
