Thomas Hulse was born before 1533 [one of his children by his wife Alice Hinton was buried in December 1546[1]]. Thomas was probably born in Norbury, Cheshire, England, where his family had lived since Edward III was king of England.[2]

Thomas was the oldest son and heir of Philip Hulse of Norbury son of Thomas, and his wife, Margaret, the daughter of Robert Corbett of Hatherton, esq.[2]

Thomas married Alice the daughter and coheir of Gefferie/Gruffith/Gryffith Hinton of Hinton co Salop,[3] [4] and his wife, Margaret, the daughter of John Dodd de Clorley (Cloverley)[5] and his first wife Elizabeth Egerton.[6] There was an an indenture agreed to by the parties involved in October 1537.

Thomas and Alice had children:

  1. John Hulse of Norbury married Alice, daughter to Lloyd;[3] [4]
  2. Robert;[4]
  3. George,[3] [4] baptized 19 November 1548 at Marbury (near Crewe), Cheshire, England.[7]
  4. Thomas;[3] [4]
  5. Margery married David Merry;[3] [4]
  6. Margrett;[3] [4] and
  7. Amy,[3] [4] baptised 10 May 1553 at Marbury (near Crewe), Cheshire, England.[8]
  8. Gryffyth buried 14 Dec 1546, at Marbury (near Crewe), Cheshire, England,[1]
  9. Richard who was buried 8 Mar 1547 at Marbury (near Crewe), Cheshire, England.[9]
  10. Marie baptised 7 November 1551 at Marbury (near Crewe), Cheshire, England.[10]

His wife Alice was buried on 6 February 1554 Marbury (near Crewe), Cheshire, England.[11]

After Alice's death, Thomas married a second wife, Margaret, the daughter of Thomas Cotton of Whitchurch, with whom he had four children.[3] [4]

notes

Date of birth might specifically be 1533. Death date seen as August 30, 1640, which seems unlikely.
