From Anderson's Great Migration Study Project:
Hugh Laskin married, by about 1612, Alice _. She died at Salem on 23 July 1658.
They had two children: Edith HERRICK & Timothy.
Charles Edward Banks and Mary Walton Ferris have stated that this family arrived in New England on the Abigail in 1628. There is no passenger list for this vessel, and no record directly places Hugh Laskin in New England before 1635.
In our treatment of Henry Herrick, we estimated his date of marriage to Edith Laskin as "about 1634." This in turn was based on the estimated date of birth of the proposed eldest child of this couple, son Thomas. Further examination of this son shows that we have no clear evidence that he was born this early, or was the eldest. Based on the evidence in hand, he could well have been born some years later. On that basis, we suggest a marriage date for Henry Herrick and Edith Laskin of 1636, which would be consistent with 1635 as an arrival date for the Laskin family.
