Alice Henning was born in 1548 at Broadmayne, Dorset, England. She is a daughter of John Henning and Dorothie Wareham.[1] Alice Talbott is mentioned in her father's Will probated 3 Jul 1617.[2]

Alice married William Talbot[1] who was born at Broadmayne in 1540. They had a daughter, Edith Talbot, who married William Locke of Brockhampton, Dorset.[3][4][5]

Children of William Talbot and Alice Henning

The first five children are recorded in The Visitation of the County of Dorset Taken in the Year 1623.[3] All his children, including the youngest two, are spoken of in William Talbot's Last Will and Testament, which was written in 1615 and proved 3 Feb 1616.[7]

  2. Edmond Talbot, second son, an apprentice in London
  3. Alice Talbot, married Edward Shawe of Broadmayne, Dorset

  5. Edith Talbot, married William Locke of Brockhampton, Dorset
  6. Elizabeth Talbot
  7. John Talbot, youngest and third son

In his Last Will and Testament dated 17 Sep 1615 at Broadmayne, Dorset, William Talbot asks to be buried in the "parish church of Broadmayne under the tombstone where William Talbott my father was buried." Among others, William, who spells his surname Talbott, mentions his sister Elizabeth Younge and each of his seven children. One of the overseers was "Richard Henning, my brother" (his brother-in-law, Alice Henning's brother). The Will was proved 3 Feb 1616.
