Alicia was the daughter of Carlos Arenas Dávila and Rosario Arenas Aguirre. When Carlos married Rosario Arenas Aguirre, she was a widow, with a son, Alfonso, from her first marriage (last name unknown)...Rosario Arenas Aguirre died and Carlos married Rosario Arenas Chiques. Together, they had four children, Carlitas, Rosa Vicenta, Rosarito and Carlos Jose. Carlos and Rosario (Sayito) moved to New York with their four children. Alicia stayed in Puerto Rico and was raised by her cousin, Josefa (Pepita). Pepita was the daughter of Carlos' brother, José Arenas. Little is known about the life of Alicia's half-brother, Alfonso.
