Alithea Louisa LOWE was born in 1845 at Hoxton, Middlesex. Alithea married Obadiah HALSTEAD, son of Samuel HALSTEAD and Mary Ann COLLIS, on 18 June 1871 at Shoreditch, London. : St John the Baptist, Shoreditch, LND.1,2 In the census of 3 April 1881 at 23 Windmill Lane, Deptford, Kent, she was listed as aged 35 born Horton, Middlesex, the wife of Obadiah HALSTEAD (a Whiting Manufacturer, living with his wife Althea, nephew William A HALSTEAD).3 In the census of 5 April 1891 at Alithea Villa, Ruthin Street, Lewisham, London, she was listed as aged 45 born Hoxton, Middlesex, the wife of Obadiah HALSTEAD (a Whiting Manufacturer, living with his wife Althea, nephew William A HALSTEAD, niece Helen WOOD).4 In the census of 31 March 1901 at London Road, Wickford, Essex, she was listed as aged 55 born Hoxton, Middlesex, the wife of Obadiah HALSTEAD (a Whiting Manufacturer, living with his wife Althea, nieces Helen WOOD and May HALSTEAD).5 In the census of 2 April 1911 at Bridge House, Wickford, Essex, she was listed as aged 65 born Hoxton, London, the wife of Obadiah HALSTEAD (a Farmer, living with his wife Althea Louisa, adopted daughter May and nephew Spencer Victor Halstead (married 40 years no children)).6 Her husband, Obadiah, died in 1925 in the Billericay registration district.7 Alithea's death was registered in 1927 in the Willesden registration district.
