Allan MacLean, known as "Leathaineach", a native of the mainland of Scotland, came to Washabuck in 1817. He married Flora (Alasdair) MacDonald, a sister of Michael "Mor" MacDonald (see 356), and their family: Michael, Alexander, and Catherine. 523
Michael, a blacksmith, married Margaret (Malcolm "Ban") MacDonald, Grand Narrows, lived in Boisdale, and their family: Alex, Allan, and Stephen who was brought up on his grandfather's farm at Lighthouse Point in Grand Narrows.

Allan McLean settled at Washabuck. He married Flora McDonald, sister of Michael McDonald (Big).
Issue:— Michael, Alex and Catherine.
Michael was a blacksmith and worked at his trade for Mr. Kidson of Baddeck for a number of years. He married Margaret, daughter of Malcolm Ban McDonald. He moved to Boisdale and built a forge on the farm of Angus Mclntyre, who was married to Catherine, daughter of Ailean Leathaineach.
He had a family of three children, Alex, Allan, Stephen.
o Allan died young.
