His surname is hard to make out on the 1900 and 1910 census. On the 1900 census, it looks like Trumbill or Trumbull, but on the 1910 census it looks like Turnbull.

He is listed as being 1 year old in the 1900 census.

He is listed as being 12 years old in the 1910 census. His parents are listed as being both born in New Jersey, but this is probably an error as the 1900 census has them both listed as being born in Maryland and his mother Nellie Hauf was born in Maryland.

He is also listed as being 11 years old on a 1910 census form in which it indicates he lived with his grandparents (Thomas and Isabelle Pratt). Perhaps he went back and forth between living with his grandparents and his mother and her husband and half-siblings?? His father is listed as having been born in New Jersey and his mother is listed as having been born in Maryland.
