Cardwell Parish, Kings County b. 1778 at Point de Bute, Westmorland County,
NB, died 1844, s/o William Freeze and Mary Bulmer Freeze: they settled at
Penobsquis, Cardwell Parish and had issue.

"One of the oldest and most interesting documents connected with the early days of settlement in Sussex parish is the "Assessment Roll, of the Town of the Parish of Sussex Taken This 27th February, 1790." - Allen Wager - under 's' 9/ The above is each inhabitant's rates or quota in the upper district of the Town or Parish of Sussex pursuant to a warrant of the general sessions of Kings County." p16
"Allen Wager - Native of Sussex County, N.J. He served in the 1st Battalion, New Jersey Volunteers, and settled in 1787 on a 200 acre lot along Trout Brook, part of now is owned by Melbourne Bucahnan. He received a large tract of land in Picadilly and became a prosperous farmer. He boasted of making all his harness of elm bark and of never shoeing his horse with iron. A daughter, Bethia, was the second wife of Samuel Freeze, of Upper Settlement. Another daughter married one of the Sheck sons." p 21
