Almeron Sacket, a cooper, son of Jonathan Sacket and Hannah Phelps, was born in Hebron, Tolland County, Connecticut, in about 1771.A death record has not been found. He married first in about 1793, probably in Pennsylvania, Rachel White. (A marriage record has not been found but Almeron and his wife Rachel were named administrators of the estate of Anson White on 29 August 1814 in Muskingum County, Ohio.). He married second in Bond County, Illinois, on 18 September 1823, Isabella Worley.

    Almeron's father Jonathan died when Almeron was six and Jonathan's brother Reuben was appointed as the child's guardian.
    Almeron was named as a beneficiary in his grandmother Anne Filer's will made in Litchfield County, Connecticut, in June 1783.
    Almeron was listed in the 1800 census as a householder in Tioga, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.
    Almeron served in the 19th US Infantry Regiment during the War of 1812, enlisting at Zanesville, Muskingum County, Ohio, on 26 December 1814 and being discharged there on 27 March 1815. On 20 January 1818 he was granted 320 acres of land in Knox County, Illinois, under a Bounty Land Warrant following his army service
