Alter Moshe Shimshon Schwartz

President of the Jewish community of Moinesti circa 1916.

Alter was an important and successful man in the oil industry of Moinesti and was quite wealthy. He was also an important leader in the Moinesti Jewish community.

One of the witnesses at the City Hall recording of his marriage to Feige ("Fanny") Solomon was Manase Haimsohn, a successful businessman in Moinesti, and most likely a close friend of Alter. The certificate also indicates that his mother, Sara Schwartz was deceased at the time of his marriage to Fanny.

He passed away on the Hebrew date י"ג בניסן התרצ"ב which means the 13th day of the Hebrew month Nisan in the Hebrew year 5692. It means Tuesday, April 19th 1932.

He was buried a day after the Eve of the important Jewish holiday of Pessah (Pessah eve= ערב פסח) which is on י"ד בניסן התרצ"ב on the 14th day in the Hebrew month of Nissan, in the Hebrew year 5692, Wednesday, April 20, 1932.

On the LEOLAM cemetery list, his name is listed as Alter SFART and his burial place is R13 in 1932.
